Patrick Tyrance, Jr.

Mr. Tyrance, Jr. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who has been active in civic and humanitarian activities since 1993. A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he was a two time Academic All-American linebacker, he was a recipient of the NCAA Top-Six Award, the highest academic honor granted by the NCAA and in 2009 was inducted into the CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame. After a brief stint with the Los Angeles (St. Louis) Rams, Dr. Tyrance, earned a doctor of medicine and master in public policy degrees from Harvard Medical School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government respectively, in 1997. While there he founded the Health Careers Mentorship Program and served as a Hilton Knowles Fellow in health care policy. He has authored several articles on health care delivery systems and has provided medical care to areas of need abroad including Kosovo. His current focus in on providing orthopaedic services to urban and rural areas of need while serving as an advocate of violence prevention and reduction of recidivism among youth in Omaha, Nebraska.
